Stories of Change

Regenerating Tourism in Europe

Rethink tourism – connect & learn – choose positive impact

Across Europe, many are already experimenting with regenerative approaches to travel and hosting. Yet these stories often remain unseen.
Here, we want to make them visible — not only the polished outcomes, but also the messy beginnings, the doubts, the small steps, and the lessons learned along the way.

This is an invitation to
connect, co-create, and learn
with others who are daring to rethink tourism .

Together, we’re building a
living, learning network
for regenerative travel in Europe.

The Project

Journey towards a regenerative mindset in European tourism

This platform is part of an Erasmus+ collaboration exploring regenerative tourism across Europe.

The goal of this project is to create a flourishing & interactive European network to connect stakeholders in tourism and introduce & cultivate a regenerative mindset within the European tourism industry.

What is Regenerative Tourism?

It’s a mindset and practice that aims to leave people, places, and ecosystems better off through tourism.

Rather than following a fixed checklist, it starts with deep questions like:
🔍 What does this place truly need to thrive?
🌱 How can tourism give back, rather than take?
🌍 How can we grow in harmony with living systems, not just manage them?

It’s a place-based, systems-aware approach that seeks to co-create net positive impacts, for communities, cultures, and nature alike. In regenerative tourism, the goal isn’t only to sustain, but to revive, restore, and reimagine.

Keep the conversation alive

Some of the most valuable moments of this project were never planned.

Our online community talks emerged because people wanted to keep connecting, sharing experiences, asking questions and learning from one another.

Today, this growing community brings together people from different backgrounds, places and projects, all exploring what regeneration could mean in practice.

One thing became very clear along the way:

The challenge is not creating the movement.
The movement already exists.
The challenge is connecting it.

Our community talks are simply an invitation to do exactly that.
